மந்திரி எப்படி கோடீஸ்வரரானார் ?

சில மாதங்களுக்கு முன்பு அந்த அமைச்சரே வெளியிட்ட தகவலின் படி,  கானகிளிய நல்லூர் நாராயண ரெட்டி நேரு என்ற கே என் நேரு, தன் தொடக்க காலத்தில் புள்ளம்பாடி பஞ்சாயத்து யூனியன் தேர்தலில் போட்டியிட, கையில் காசு இல்லாததால், தனது குடும்பத்துக்குச் சொந்தமான விளை நிலத்தை விற்றார். அப்படி, சொந்த நிலத்தை விற்று தேர்தலில் போட்டியிட்ட நேருவுக்கு,  திருச்சி தில்லை நகரில் ஒரு பங்களா,  லால்குடி அருகில் ரு 250 கோடி மதிப்பிலான  நவீன அரிசி ஆலை, இவற்றுடன், கல்வி நிறுவனங்கள், கார்பொரேட் ஆஸ்பத்திரிகள், கல்குவாரிகள், இந்தோனேஷியாவில் நிலக்கரிச் சுரங்கம் என்று சுமார் ஆயிரம் கோடிக்கு மேல் சொத்துகள் இருப்பதாக மதிப்பிடப் பட்டுள்ளது.
மந்திரி எப்படி இவ்வளவையும் சம்பாதித்தார் என்று டெக்கான் கிரானிக்கிளின் செய்தி ஒன்று கேள்வி எழுப்பியுள்ளது. உணவு, கூட்டுறவு, பொது விநியோகத் துறை, போன்ற துறைகளின் அமைச்சராக இருந்த நேரு தற்போது போக்குவரதத்துத் துறை அமைச்சராக இருக்கின்றார். 2002ல் லஞ்ச ஒழிப்புத்துறையினரால், வருமானத்துக்கு அதிகமாக, சொத்து சேர்த்ததாக வழக்கு தொடுக்கப் பட்டிருந்தது. 2008ல் திமுக ஆட்சியின் போது இந்த வழக்குகள் யாவும் தள்ளுபடி செய்யப் பட்டுவிட்டன என்றும் இந்தச் செய்தி குறிப்பிடுகின்றது.

`Pauper' Nehru owns mine

March. 17: Going by his own statements after the death of his mother (his father's first wife) Bangaru Ammal a few months ago, Kaanakiliyanallur Narayana Reddy Nehru, popularly known as transport minister K.N. Nehru, had no money to meet the election expenses to run for the post of Pullambadi union chairman. Therefore, he sold a farmland owned by Bangaru Ammal. Minister Nehru, however, bought back the family property recently to fulfil her last wish.
But now the total value of movable and immovable properties owned by Mr Nehru and his family is said to be a few thousand crore rupees.
This includes a palatial house in Thillainagar, Tiruchy, a modern rice mill worth `250 crore near Lalgudi, about 200 acres at Palaviduthy, in Karur, several educational institutions, including CARE, near Tiruchy, and several corporate hospitals in Tiruchy, a few granite quarries and a coal mine in Indonesia.
Mr Nehru, a native of Kaanakiliyanallur village, in Lalgudi taluk, who has studied up to pre-university course, was earlier known as `Mundi' Nehru as he ran an onion mundi (wholesale shop) in Pullambadi.
Mr Nehru who served as minister for food, cooperation and public distribution during the erstwhile DMK regime during 1996-2001, allegedly amassed wealth and the DVAC filed a case in 2002.
