சென்னையில் சில கடைகளில் சராசரியாக தினமும் ரூ 50ஆயிரம் ரூபாய்க்கு, வழக்கத்தை விடக் கூடுதலாக விற்பனையாகின்றது. தினமும் ரூ இரண்டரை லட்சத்துக்கு மது விற்கும் கடைகள் இப்பொழுது மூன்று லட்ச ரூபாய்க்கு தினமும் விற்றுக் கொழிக்கின்றன. பகல் வேளைகளில் சில்லிட்ட பீரும், இரவில் விஸ்கியும், பிராந்தியும் அதிகம் விற்றுத் தள்ளுகின்றது. மாலை வேளைகளில் எல்லா டாஸ்மாக் பார்களிலும் கரை வேட்டி கட்டியவர்களே கூடிக் கூடிக் குடிக்கின்றனர். வேட்பு மனு கேட்டு விருப்ப மனு கொடுக்க ஆரம்பித்ததில் இருந்தே இந்தக் கொண்டாட்டங்கள் தொடங்கிவிட்டன. இப்படியாகச் செல்கின்றது இந்தக் கட்டுரை.
இது போன்ற பதிவுகள் தான் நம்து ஜனநாயக்த் திருவிழாவின் உண்மை நிலவரத்தினை உணர்த்துவதாக உள்ளன.
தமிழ் நாளிதழ்களில் இது போன்ற செய்திகள் இல்லை என்று சொல்லிவிட முடியாது. ஆனாலும், கண்ணில் இதுவரை தென்படவில்லை.

CHENNAI: TASMAC liquor shops in a few pockets of Chennai are doing brisk business for the past few days, thanks to aspirants from various political parties who have been camping in the city to seek party tickets to contest in the upcoming Assembly elections.

After a hard day’s work lobbying for themeselves or their local ‘thalaivar’ (leader), these partymen from various parts of the state throng the TASMAC shops and bars in the evening for ‘relaxation’ and also to strategise for the next day. 

The past few weeks have been witnessing a sudden jump in the sale of liquor in Egmore, Chepauk and Triplicane areas, given their proximity to the party headquarters and railway stations.

“The sale in our shop increased by about Rs. 50,000 a day,” said an employee of a TASMAC shop in Triplicane. “The average sale of the outlet is Rs. 2.5 lakh and it went up to Rs. 3 lakh last week, when major political parties were receiving applications from aspirants.”

Another salesman at an IMFL shop in Egmore pointed out that the business had increased by Rs. 30,000 inng the ticket seekers because of the soaring mercury, most others prefer whisky and brandy for the evening, the salesman added.

There are at least 10 TASMAC l the past fortnight. While chilled beer remains to be a favourite amoiquor outlets in Egmore, Chepauk and Triplicane areas, apart from several private bars.

An employee of a popular private bar on Anna Salai stated that men in ‘Karai Vetis’ (dhothis with party colours) and cars loaded with supporters are making a beeline since the declaration of election dates.

“During last weekend, the bar was occupied primarily by partymen hailing from different political parties,” he added.  He hoped that the their numbers would only shoot up in the coming days.

நாளிதழ் வாசிக்காத இரண்டரை கோடி பேர் குறித்த செய்திகளுக்கு தமிழ் நாளிதழ்களில் இடமில்லை

விளிம்பு நிலை மனிதர்கள் குறித்த செய்திகளுக்கு தமிழ் நாளிதழ்கள் எப்பொழுதும் முக்கியத்துவம் தருவதில்லை.
இதில் எந்தத் தமிழ் நாளிதழும் விதி விலக்கல்ல.
1703 2011 வியாழக் கிழமை அன்று ஒருங்கிணைக்கப் படாத உழைக்கும் வர்க்கத்தினருக்கான தேர்தல் அறிக்கையை சமூகப் போராலி மேதா பட்கர் வெளியிட்டார். இந்த அறிக்கையில் ஒருங்கிணைக்கப் படாத உதிரிகளாக உழைப்பாளர்களின் நலனுக்காக் ஒரு அமைச்சகம் வேண்டும் என்ற் கோரிக்கை முக்கியமாக் முன் வைக்கப் பட்டுள்ளது.  தமிழக்ததில் இவ்வகையில் சுமார் இரண்டரைக் கோடி உழைப்பாளிகள் உள்ளதாகவும் இந்த அறிக்கை குறிப்பிடுகின்றது.

 பொதுவாகவே, நாளிதழைக் காசு கொடுத்து வாங்க முடியாதவர்கள் பற்றி எந்த நாளிதழும் கவலைப் படுவதில்லை. அத்தகையவர்கள் நாளிதழில் வெளியாகும் எந்த விளம்பரங்களைப் பார்த்தும் பொருட்களை வாங்க முடிவதில்லை என்பதால், அவர்களைப் பற்றி  விளம்பர நிறுவனங்களும்  எந்த அக்கறையும் கொள்வதில்லை. விளம்பரதாரர்களின் நலன்களையே  அதிகம் , முன்னிறுத்தும் தமிழ் நாளிதழ்கள், இவ்வகைச் செய்திகளை வெளியிடாதது வியப்பானதல்ல. ஆனால், நாளிதழ்கள், உண்மை பேசுவதாகவும், அவை சமூகத்தின் எல்லாதரப்பு மனிதர்கள் குறித்தும் அக்கறை கொள்வது போலப் பிதற்றிக் கொளவதை உண்மை என்று நம்பும் போக்கினைக் கைவிடவும் இது போன்ற செய்திகளுக்கான இடமில்லாததைக் காணும்போது அதிர்ச்சியாகவே உள்ளது.

There are an estimated 2.5 crore voters in the unorganised sector which comprises a majority of the stat's worksforce
With an estimated 2.5 crore voters in the state in the unorganised sector, a demand for an exclusive ministry for their welfare has been placed by an umbrella organisation of unorganised workers. Also the welfare boards that have been established for various workers in various sectors should be streamlined and be provided with adequate staff, they further demanded.
The election manifesto, released by environment activist Medha Patkar for the Unorganised Workers' Federation , National Alliance of People's Movements and Makkal Aatchi Iyakkam on Wednesday, also focused on the right to resources, remuneration and social security of these workers.
Ending acquision of agricultural land, and human right violations by the Sri Lankan navy for Indian fisherfolk, providing collateral free credit interest free or low interst rates were some of the other demands mentioned in the manifesto.
The unorganised sector comprises a majority of the state's workforce in the agriculture, construction, fisheries, handlooms, powerlooms, streetvending, brick kilns, stone quarries and service. sector.  In end March, Makkal Medai or Lok Manch will be held in different parts of the city wherein the public would question the candidates contesting in a select constitutency, on issues concerning their welfare. Though the government hasfulfilled its earlier electoral promise of setting up a welfare boards for the marginalised,unorgnsied sector, these boards have not been allotted sufficient funds or infrastructure", said Geeta Ramakrishna, advisor, Unorganised Workers Federation. "For example, there is no separate administration for Fish Workers Welfare Board. We demand that atleast 3 per cent of the state budget be allocated for social secuity of the unorgnised sector. A State commision should also be formed to tacle the sensitive issue of bonded and migrant labour, she demanded. All workers in the unorganised sector should be extended ESi, while temporary ration cards must be given to migrant workers.
